Ravens 2005: Week 12: Ravens get mangled in Cincinnati

The Ravens did something yesterday they have not done all season long; score 20+ points. However, they also did something else they have not done since November 23, 2003; give up 40+ points. Boller showed he is not quite ready to relinquish his position has the Ravens quarterback. Boller started the game sluggish but he lit it up in the second half throwing three touchdowns. However, his performance came after the Bengals had taken a 34-0 lead and were playing prevent defense. Jamal Lewis also had a good day, breaking the 100 yard rushing mark for the first time this season.

The Ravens did not leave Cincinnati with just a loss but also with a handful off injuries. Will Demps blew out his knee and will go on IR. Chris McAlister injured his hamstring during the game. The Ravens backfield has also become depleted. Chester Taylor was injured before the game and was not available. Justin Green injured his wrist during the game. Musa Smith will be placed on the IR. This leaves only Jamal Lewis as the healthy running back on the team. The team is expected to look in free agency for a quick fix.

Ravens 2005: Week 11: The Ravens get back to the win column

The Baltimore Ravens ended the 4 game loosing steak by beating the Pittsburgh Steelers this past Sunday. It also ended a stretch of 12 quarter in which the Ravens had failed to score an offensive touchdown. The Steelers were playing without Ben Roethlisberger. Tommy Maddox started for the Steelers and went 19-for-36 for 230 yards and an interception. He also lost a fumble.

This game might have been the beginning of the end for Jamal Lewis. Chester Taylor got more carries than Lewis and is set to get a lot more carries for the remainder of the season. In the game Taylor had 19 carries to Lewis' 13.

Todd Heap has 214 reception in his career. That breaks a record held by Travis Taylor, who played with the Ravens from 2000 to 2004. Heap is approaching on Qadry Ismail's record for most receiving yards by a Raven (2819) set from 1999-2001. As of week 10 of this season, Heap has 2528 career receiving yards.
