Leno to give way for Conan in 5 years

I saw him make the announcement on Monday night and it felt like to me he was forced into it. The Tonight Show is taped in LA so it really does not matter who is behind the desk because all the stars will be easily accessible. I believe that is why Leno beats out Letterman in the ratings even though Letterman seems to win more emmys. Why NBC would force Leno out, I don't know. Maybe Conan is cheaper or perhaps they like him more because he is more appealling to younger viewers.

Its offical: DC gets the Expos

I am an Orioles fan first but since I live in the DC area, I guess I will have to cheer for the Expos too. It will definitely make it easy for me to go catch a game. I hope it will also force the Orioles to field a better team.

The only negative thing about the Expos coming to DC is that I won't be able to catch the Orioles on TV or the radio. I don't get Baltimore stations from College Park. I need to get a better TV with a stronger singal or something. I gots to do something.

Ravens 2004: Week 3 : Good Road Win

Much like last week, the Ravens set the tone early with their running game. In their first position, they took the ball all the way down the field by running the ball a majority of the time. They took a 3-point lead and never looked back. Jamal Lewis got back his groove. He rushed for 186 yards and caught 46 yards with 1 touchdown.

A major factor in the Ravens win this week was special teams. Coverage was terrific and return was even better. BJ Sams had returns of 63 and 28. Stover was 2/2 in his field goal attempts.

The only bad thing about the Ravens game this week was the 5 fumbles. Only Boller's 2 fumbles were lost but he needs to protect the ball much better when he decides to run.

What can you say about the Ravens defense? It is simply the best. They gave up a lot of yards but they limited the Bengals to 3 field goals. Ed Reed gets the game ball. He picked off 2 passes and returned them for 43 and 48 yards.

Ravens 2004: Week 2 :Ravens notch their first win

The Ravens dominated the first half. Although the Ravens were heavily penalized, they were not backed up in their own backfield as often as they were last week, which was a big factor in their loss on opening weekend. The running game for the Ravens was back in sync with Johnathon Ogden back in the line up. The Ravens passing game is still insignificant but Kyle Boller played smart football. He made completions to keep drives alive and ran the ball when he couldn't find anyone to pass to.

Special teams were excellent. Matt Stover was 3/3 in his field goal attempts. The Rookie B.J. Sams had returns of 33 and 20 repeatedly putting the Ravens in good field position.

The only negative thing to report from week 2 is the injury suffered by Todd Heap. The x-rays on his ankle were negative and hopefully he will be ready for next week’s game.

I don't know what it was about the Ravens during this game but they kept taking their helmets off before they left the field. First Deion Sanders did it and then later on it was Ed Reed. But overall the Ravens defense was superb. They forced 3 turnovers, one interception was returned for 50 yards by Chris McAlister, completely shattering the chance of the Steelers making a come back late in the 4th quarter.

Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story

I will admit I thought the movie looked real dumb when I first saw the preview. But after seeing it, I thinking it is one of the funniest movies I have seen in a while. The last time I laughed as much watching a movie was when I wacthed Jackass. In fact, I think it is the best movie I have seen all year. The only thing that will best it I think will be the upcoming Meet the Fockers.

Thinking of getting a hip hop magazine

The two biggest hip hop magazine to my knowledge are The Source and XXL. I want to get a subscription to one the two. I could not make up my mind so I decided to create this poll and see what people think.

Which magazine is a better hip hop source?

Ravens 2004: Week 1 : Tough loss

This was only the Ravens second loss at the Cleveland Browns Stadium. They have an over-all record of 4-2 at the Browns home.

Unlike last year, the Browns were able to shutdown Jamal Lewis. Last year he ran for 205 yards at Cleveland Browns Stadium. Jonathan Ogden being out of the game was a big factor for the Ravens poor performance on the ground.

The defense played well, except for two blown assignments by the secondary. The Browns offense had less total yards than the Ravens offense.

The passing offense is still nonexistent. Yet again Todd Heap is their best receiver. One bright spot is Randy Hymes. He looked promising. Kyle Boller threw 2 ints and lost a fumble. Hopefully this will be his worst game of the year.

Saturday classes suck

Especially when Saturday classes are 9am. I am gonna have a hard time waking up tomorrow morning. I live in College Park just off campus and it will be very loud tonight. I will be lucky to get 4 to 5 hours of sleep tonight.

The Cookout

There really wasn't anything good to watch this week. Evidently I am not the only one who feels this way because the highest grossing movie this week brought in only $11.5 mil. The Cookout was very weak. There wasn't very many laughs.
