Shrek 2

You can get the first Shrek from Amazon.comIt was not as good as the first one. I hope Shrek 3 will be better. I wonder how Shrek 3 will be made though, now that Pixar and Disney have broken up.

My opinion of Shrek 2 is a minority because in only 2 weeks it has broken the bank. It the next few days, Shrek 2 will have made more money than the first Shrek. That is right! The first Shrek grossed in $267 million but the second one has already reached $257 million in just 12 days.

Careful, sneezing can be dangerous

Yup, two violent sneezes gave Sammy Sosa of the Chicago Cubs a sprained ligament in his lower back and he is now on the disabled list. I am just glad he ain't on any of my fantasy teams.

Sharp will replace Sanders

Former Baltimore Raven Shannon Sharpe will replace Deion Sanders for CBS' NFL pregame show. Sanders won't return because of contract difference with CBS.

Who is the Orioles MVP so far?

Sidney Ponson chose an excellent time to pitch his best game of the year. He pitched a complete game shutout against the Angles last night. Had the Orioles lost, it would have meant being swept as well as falling back to .500. Even more important was the break Ponson gave the bullpen; on Friday, Ainsworth only last 1 1/3 innings and on Saturday, DuBose lasted only 3 2/3 innings. With no games scheduled for today, the bullpen will be getting the much deserved rest.

Ponson is the ace on the team and so far this year he has not done very well. The Orioles most valuable player so far might just be Rodrigo Lopez. He has pitched 27 1/3 innings and has only allowed 1 earned run. He has finally been awarded for his performance and now has been put in the rotation. He will start against the Mariners this Thursday. But how about Melvin Mora? He leads the majors with his .368 batting average and is second in runs (34). He leads the Orioles in HR(7), OBP (.500), and SLG (.594). Tejada is the leader of the pack. He leads the team with RBI(30) and nobody else's homeruns have been more meaningful. Roberts leads the team with 16 SB and might have locked up his position at second. BJ Ryan is perhaps the best left-handed relief pitcher in the game.

My vote goes to Mora. Who do you think has been the Orioles MVP so far? :

Who's the Orioles MVP so far?
Roberts
Mora
Tejeda
Javy Lopez
Rodrigo Lopez
Ryan

Usher still Burns

Usher's second single, Burn, finally reached poll position on the Billboard 100. He is also atop the albums chart; he has sold over 3 million copies so far. He has another single, Confessions Part II, which should reach poll position. I don't know of any artist that has had 3 singles go number 1 but Beyonce might be able to do it. Crazy In Love and Baby Boy have reached number 1 and Naughty Girl is currently at #4.

CBS dumps Deion Sanders

deionSanders.jpgI am a Ravens fan and thus I watch the CBS pregame show. Deion Sanders was by far the most exciting guy they have had on the show ever since the AFC moved from NBC to CBS. Jim Nantz is a pro but Marino and Esiason are as exciting as watching paint dry. They are trying to replace him with either Shannon Sharpe, Rod Woodson, Seth Joyner or Neil O'Donnell. To borrow the words of Tony Kornheiser, "They are all dopes." (USAToday)

I like Hairston over Roberts

I think both are identical. The only difference between the two is that Hairston bats right and Roberts is a switch hitter. I say trade Roberts and another one of our hitters for a starting pitcher. The Orioles have a pretty good bullpen but it is being overused. The starting pitchers are stinking it up, especially Ponson.

Ray Lewis to be on cover of Madden NFL 2005

Hope he does not end up like Faulk and Vick and get hurt the season they were put on the cover of Madden. But anyways, in the third paragraph of the article, it says "He finished the 2003 season with a franchise-record 125 tackles". I think they mean he finished with the most solo tackles on the team for the 2003 season because that is no franchise record. According to his career stats, he finished with more than 125 tackles in 97 and 99.

The Tabloids were right about Friends

Back a few months ago, I picked up a tabloid at CVS that claimed to contain inside the details of the finale of Friends. Well, guess what, it was all right. They were right about the twins, and Rachel getting on the plain and then getting off of it, and all that other good stuff. Well, now I guess the only thing left to do is wait for the spinoff Joey.

Saved

The setting in the movie was Baltimore at a Christian high school. I wonder if it actually was shot in Baltimore. I saw several cars with a Maryland liscence plate. I check on google and yahoo to see if an 'American Eagle High School' (the high school in the movie) existed in Baltimore but I did not find anything. Well, the movie was not bad. Macaulay Culkin looked terrible. Mandy Moore was not bad in it. The main character in the movie is played by Jena Malone. She gives up herself and gets pregnant for a stupid cause. Then she looses faith and becomes one of the outcasts. Macaulay Culkin never had any faith. Mandy Moore has too much faith. I guess I should not say anything else more about the movie. It was not bad.

Snoop Dogg to host SNL

Saturday Night Live is the only comedy still airing that I like, now that Friends and Becker are gone. I hope the spinoff Joey will be sucessful. I should be watching UPN's One On One as the setting in the show is Baltimore. But anyways, Mr. Snoop D.O Double G will be hosting my favorite show on TV this Saturday, helped along with Avril Lavigne. The only other rapper that I have even seen hosting the show was Queen Latifah. That is when she came out with Bringing Down the House but why is Snoop hosting? I guess he is doing it to promote Soul Plane even thought it does not come out until May 28.

D12 go gold in one week

D12 World sold over 500,000 copies over the past week. I believe this the biggest opening for a rap album thus far this year. I don't like Eminem but I think I will get a copy to get an answer to the age old question; is 50 Cent's group G-Unit better or is it Eminem's D-12?

Flex Alexander to play Michael Jackson

(Hollywood Reporter) - Flex Alexander will play Michael Jackson in an upcoming VH1 biopic about the embattled pop star.

Alexander, star of the UPN sitcom “One on One,” will be joined by Eugene Clark (“Reversible Errors”), who will play Jackson’s bodyguard and confidant. An accomplished dancer, Alexander’s fleet feet helped land the actor the role.

Tentatively titled “Family Values,” the film is expected to trace Jackson’s life from his Motown heyday to his legal woes. In addition to VH1, the film also will air on Canadian channels the Movie Network and Movie Central.
