I really liked this movie. I did not know much about the movie except that it was set during the Civil War and that Nicole Kidman was starring in it. I figured since Nicole Kidman was in the movie that the movie would be a little romantic movie and not focus so much on the war. Well I was wrong. There was plently of blood and killing. I did not even know the movie was rated R. I have not seen any previews for it. Going into the movie, I did not think I would like it because I generally don't like movies that get a lot of Oscar buzz (The Hours, Chicago, A Beautiful Mind, and Gladiator of all which I disliked very much). Plus it was directed by the dude who did The English Patient. I hated that movie. Well Cold Mountain probably is one of best movies I have seen this year. I really liked Renee Zellweger's character. She was tough, funny and what she did to that rooster that was bothering Kidman's character was awesome. Posted by yirga at December 9, 2003 10:55 PM
