Ruben tops albums charts

Ruben Studdard
His debut album, Soulful, landed at #1 moving 416,000 copies in its first week. He did not do as well as Clay; he moved over 600,000 units in his first week. Ruben does not mind because he got a grammy nomination (Category 24) and Clay did not. Although Luther will win that award. I would give it R Kelly.

Examine the albums charts closely and you will see they must have made a few mistakes. According to the chart, Outkast's new CD has already sold 6 million copies. A triangle next to an album name indicates that it has gone platinum and if there is a number next to it, it means it has sold that number times a million. In this case the number is 6. Every Wednesday, Billboard.com posts an article announcing how the top 10 album did for the week. Two day ago, the article said Outkast's new CD has sold 2.36 million so far to date. Unless 3.64 million people have purchased the CD in the last two days, they must have made a mistake. Maybe they multiplied the figures by two since it is a double CD. Even then, the total becomes under 5 mil. One million people did not go out and buy the CD in the last 2 days.

Also according to the chart G-Unit's Beg for Mercy has gone double platinum but Jay-Z's Black Album has not even gotten to the million figure. I think they have the results backward here. Supposedly Nelly's Da Derrty Versions - The Reinvention and Missy's This Is Not A Test have gone platinum status in only 3 weeks. Oh come on! It never even made the top 10.
